The Importance of Intention

You may ask “why intention so important in living a dream life?”  Well, first let’s start with defining the word.

Intention:  An act or instance of determining mentally upon some action or result.  The end or object intended; purpose. (  In magic and affirmation, the focus of the mind, the sense of purpose that leads to action.  (

Focus of the mind. Purpose that leads to action.

When you set an intention you gain clarity on what you want, therefore allowing the universe to align with you toward your end goal.  Lacking direction and purpose, we meander around unfocused, doing things that might not lead to making your dreams come true.   In fact, they may keep you from living your dream life!

Of course, intention must come with a commitment to take action.  Without action, you will never be able to achieve your dreams.

Setting an intention doesn’t have to be big and scary.  You can have one or a few, they can be very simple intentions such as “I will laugh every day” or a more complex one like building a holistic retreat.  If you don’t have practice with this, I’d suggest starting small and building up the success muscle first.

So, if you’re ready to live the life of your dreams, start by making a commitment to yourself.  What is it you want to do, create, change or accomplish?  Set an intention and commit to taking action toward your dream.

What happens if you don’t have a dream?  Well, personally I think everyone has a dream, but may not resonate with that word.  Replace it with goal, hope, wish…whatever works for you and see what comes up.  When all else fails, your dream could be to have a dream.
